<![CDATA[Welcome to my new book on Web 2.0: Web Services Mesh-up

Web 2.0 is a concepts, dervied from Web Services Technology.

One of the hottest trends in Web 2.0 is the development of mash-ups. The term mash-up originated in the music world -- a music mash-up is a remix of two or more songs to create a new song. Similar to music mash-ups, a Web application mash-up combines complementary functionality from multiple Web sites or Web applications.

The recent introduction of Google Maps provide a living labratory for the competition between application vendors and their data suppliers. Google's lightweight programming model has led to the creation of numerous value-added services in the form of mashups that link Google Maps with other internet-accessible data sources.

Developers have created mash-ups using Web services and RSS/ATOM feeds from several popular Web sites including Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, FlickR and many others. This book provides loads of new programming methods, tools, code samples and more as the world of mash-ups explodes.]]>
